Jabalpur/Katni: Have you ever heard that a train leaves the track and starts moving in water and like a boat, it starts moving slowly. Something similar happened in Jabalpur Railway Division of MP. Where the Dundi track of Katni to Jabalpur line got flooded. After which the passengers were left breathless as the train started moving on the water filled track. Therefore, the employees were first looking for the tracks ahead of the track. At the same time, after the signal of the employees, the passenger train was moving slowly. The video of which has surfaced. Which is going viral.

Hundreds of passengers were aboard
Hundreds of passengers were travelling in the train who were watching this incident. Actually, there was heavy rainfall in Jabalpur and other nearby districts the previous day. Hence, the tracks were flooded with water. In view of this, the railway engineers and disaster workers went straight to the tracks where the tracks were filled with water upto the knees. To prevent any untoward incident, four employees of the disaster management and engineering department of Jabalpur Railway Division were walking ahead of the train on the tracks.

Jabalpur to Katni route was affected
Due to waterlogging in the railway track, the route between Jabalpur and Itarsi was affected. According to West Central Railway CPRO Rahul Srivastava, some trains were definitely affected. But with the help of railway workers, water was removed from the track. Due to which the train started running smoothly. He told that the track was filled with water. Due to which the tracks were completely submerged. Therefore, water was removed from the track by making a drain as well as taking other measures. Due to which the line could be cleared. During this, the safety of the passengers was also taken care of.

Lakhs are spent in the name of maintenance
It is worth noting that every year the railway spends lakhs in the name of maintenance. Despite this, waterlogging on the tracks raises questions on the working of the railways. However, the engineering department had piled up soil and ballast at many places between Jabalpur and Katni so that such a situation does not arise. But due to rain, these could not be used. All the piles were washed away. At some places, the piles disappeared.
