This dog went viral on the internet, became a part of the Dogecoin logo, died after a long illness

Do you remember the dog of Digicoin which became a part of its logo after going viral on Twitter? Actually it was a female dog, who died at the age of 18. This announcement has been made recently by its owner. The female dog named Kabosu finally lost her battle with poor health 14 years after going viral. The Japanese Shiba Inu was battling leukemia and liver disease after being the most famous dog on the internet for more than a decade.

A celebration of Kabosu’s fighting life will be held next Sunday at Flower Kaori in Kotsu no Mori, Narita City, Japan. He was rescued in 2008 by teacher Atsuko Sato from a shelter. Kabosu was sent there at an early age when the puppy farm closed down.

Writing the sad news in a post on Instagram on Friday, May 24, Kabosu’s owner Sato said, “To all of you who loved Kabosu, on the morning of May 24, Kabosu has passed away. Thank you very much to all of you for your support for so many years. She passed away very peacefully without any pain, as if falling asleep feeling the warmth of my hands.”

In 2010, a photo of Kabosu went viral online, smiling with her paws folded. From then on, her star continued to rise, eventually becoming the face of the major cryptocurrency Dogecoin as well as the subject of countless memes and comical textless online activity.
