Unbridled. The year 2020 was no less than a long holiday for children around the world. For them, this was a period when they enjoyed a lot and were busy playing computer games. But, a 15-year-old child made full use of this holiday. Prathamesh Sutara is a resident of Nippani taluk of Belgaum district, who has made an electric bike on his own amidst this pandemic. On this electric bike, you can cover a distance of up to 40 kilometers after charging it once.

Actually, during the lockdown amid the pandemic, Prathamesh thought of doing some creative work. He told his parents about making an electric bike. Prathamesh’s father Prakash Sutara was happy to hear that his son was going to do some decent work. Prakash Sutara is an electrician. Prathamesh was fully supported by his family.

Make parts by collecting things from junk
After this, Prathamesh started collecting all the junk that could be used to make a bike. Since his father is an electrician himself, he got most of the necessary items from his father’s garage. After this, Prathamesh made a 48 volt Lid Acid Battery. Apart from this, he made one motor of 48 volts and 750 watts and one electric rechargeable motor.

took help of internet
Talking to News 18, Prathamesh Sutara said, ‘Today the fuel prices are skyrocketing and common people cannot afford this much. I remained at home even during the lockdown and after that. After the school closed, I thought of doing something on my own. After this, I prepared an electric bike with the help of my father. For this, I also did some research on the internet so that I could get the right information.’

Only 25 thousand rupees were spent
Prathamesh has spent only Rs 25,000 to make this bike. Compared to the price of electric bikes available in the market, this is very economical.

Prathamesh said, ‘After charging it once, it gives a mileage of 40 kilometers. The maximum speed of this bike is 40 kilometers per hour. Another special thing is that this bike also has a reverse gear.’

Father’s chest swelled with pride
Prakash Sutara proudly says about his son’s achievement, ‘I am very happy for my son because he used his free time for a good cause. Despite being an electrician, I myself did not know much about electric bike mechanism. During this adventure, I have also got to learn a lot from my son. I hope that one day he will do something big, which will make us proud of him.’
