The third meeting of the Quad Policy Planners Working Group was held in New Delhi on Monday. The priorities of the Indo-Pacific region were discussed in it. The Ministry of External Affairs has given information about this meeting.

Randhir Jaiswal, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, posted on social media and wrote, “The third meeting of the Quad Policy Planners Working Group was held in New Delhi today. The meeting discussed the key priorities of the Indo-Pacific region and future ideas of the Quad.”

The Quad is specifically a diplomatic partnership between India, Australia, Japan, and the United States, committed to advancing an open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. The Quad was reconstituted in 2017. After this, the Quad has announced the creation of six working groups, which focus on different policies and initiatives.

Earlier in 2023, US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Hiroshima for the fifth edition of the Quad Leaders Summit.

The Quad’s positive and practical agenda focuses on addressing the pressing challenges facing the region, including in the areas of priority, health, security, climate change, infrastructure, technology, cyber security, humanitarian assistance, counter-terrorism, among others.
