They used to cross the bike and disappear in five minutes, police busted the gang which was causing a headache

MP Crime News: Ujjain police has succeeded in arresting two members of an interstate gang of thieves. The accused had stolen more than a dozen vehicles. Police has revealed incidents of vehicle theft in many cities including Bhopal, Indore, Dewas.

Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said that incidents of vehicle theft were happening continuously in Ujjain city. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Jiwajiganj police started investigation. CCTV cameras around the incident spot were scanned.

While investigating the CCTV footage, the police noticed two people. The activities of both of them were looking suspicious. Police detained Yakub alias Ganja, resident of Khandar Mohalla and Sahil Khan, resident of Begum Bagh Colony and questioned them. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime of vehicle theft. 17 stolen bikes were seized on the information given by the accused. The estimated price of the bikes is said to be Rs 9 lakh.

According to the police, the accused had made bike theft their profession. They would commit the theft in 5 minutes and then run away from the spot. The accused have stolen bikes from Bhopal, Indore, Dewas and other cities. The police said that 21-year-old Yakub is a smart criminal. 10 serious crimes including kidnapping, theft and robbery are registered against him.

Two gang members arrested by police

Yakub is being questioned in many other cases as well. Many cases including illegal possession of arms are registered against Sahil in different police stations. He had even opened a factory to dismantle stolen vehicles. Parts of stolen vehicles were dismantled in the factory. The police had to face a lot of difficulty in identifying the seized vehicles.
