Pakistan’s team fared badly in the tournament and could not reach the Super 8. It even lost to host USA. After the defeat against India, it was decided that Babar Azam’s team would not reach the next round.
Former Indian team captain Sunil Gavaskar, while talking on Star Sports, exposed the reality of Pakistan team. He said that nobody knows what will happen in this team. Nobody knows who will be made the captain and who will be removed. Not only the decisions of Pakistan Cricket Board, but the decisions of the players are also surprising. If any Pakistani player has announced retirement, then it should not be trusted at all.
Gavaskar said, the announcement of retirement of a player of the Pakistan cricket team means that he is going to take a break from cricket. After the break, he will return to the field again. Imad Wasim and Mohammad Aamir had retired from international cricket but withdrew it and played in the T20 World Cup. There are many examples of this when Pakistani players retired and withdrew it and started playing again.
