New Delhi. Ajinkya Rahane will soon be seen playing for the English county team Leicestershire. Former Indian captain Rahane has signed a contract with the English club for this. Ajinkya Rahane has signed a contract for the second part of the current season of the County Championship. Leicestershire club announced this on Thursday. Rahane will join the team in mid-July.
Ajinkya Rahane will represent Leicestershire in the last 5 matches of the County Championship and will also play in the ODI Cup. Leicestershire is the defending champion of the ODI Cup. Rahane will replace Wiaan Mulder in the team. 36-year-old Mulder may go on a West Indies tour with South Africa in August.

Ajinkya Rahane is considered one of the best players not only in India but in the world. When India won the Test series in Australia, Rahane was the captain of the team. He has scored more than 8000 runs with 15 centuries in all formats for the Indian team.
In a statement issued by the English club, Rahane said, ‘I am very excited to join Leicestershire. I am looking forward to joining this team. I saw the team’s results last year and was very impressed. I hope I will enjoy my cricket and contribute to the club’s greater success this season.’
