A teenager has been stabbed to death in east London.
A murder investigation has been launched after the boy – believed to be aged 15 – was found with fatal stab wounds in Hackney on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Stellman Close shortly after 4pm.
He was treated by emergency services but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen said: “We know this happened in a busy area during the day and there would have been people around.
“The suspect is believed to have run away from the scene and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Stellman Close area around 4pm to contact police.”
The Metropolitan Police said officers were in the process of informing the victim’s next of kin.
The fatal stabbing comes just two days after 15-year-old Rene Graham was shot dead during a “family fun day” in a west London park.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway said: “The death of a child is devastating and my first thoughts are with his family and friends.
“Our communities will also be deeply concerned by this event.
“Urgent enquiries are under way and my officers are working hard to identify the suspects.”

DCS Conway said local residents can expect to see a “notable police presence in the area” and road closures in the Stellman Close area will be in place for some time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
