Sports is beyond boundaries… it unites people… Harbhajan said, Neeraj and Nadeem have given a good message

New Delhi. Former spinner Harbhajan Singh is happy to see the friendship between Indian athletics poster boy Neeraj Chopra and Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. Bhajji says that the brotherhood between Neeraj and Arshad shows that sports is beyond boundaries and it unites people. Nadeem won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics with a brilliant Olympic record throw of 92.97 meters. While Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal with a season’s best of 89.45 meters.

Harbhajan Singh said, ‘We saw some good photos in which Neeraj and Nadeem were talking to each other after the ceremony after the end of the competition. Both were holding the flag of their respective countries and both were respecting each other as players. This shows that sports is beyond any boundaries and sports unites everyone. Both of them have given a very good message.

‘It is like India-Pakistan’
Bhajji said, ‘It is like India-Pakistan. When we used to play against Pakistan in cricket, we were very competitive on the field but when it comes to things outside the field, we have a good relationship.’ Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan also mentioned Neeraj’s mother’s statement.

“It is good to hear a statement like this.”
The 44-year-old former off-spinner said, ‘Neeraj’s mother gave a very good statement that the gold medalist (Nadeem) is also a mother’s son and he is also like a son. So it is good to get such a statement and obviously sports is beyond this. Congratulations to Nadeem for winning the gold medal. Neeraj is our pride, our hero.’
