India Budget For Maldives : The Modi government has also announced a big budget for the anti-India Maldives. Even after Mohammad Muizzu threatens India at the behest of China, the Indian government has announced a budget of Rs 400 crore for Maldives. The biggest thing is that there has been no reduction in the budget of Maldives compared to last year, while the budget for Bhutan has been reduced slightly. This year the government has allocated Rs 2,068 crore for Bhutan, which was Rs 2400 crore in the last financial year. Bangladesh has also been allocated Rs 120 crore in the current general budget, which was Rs 200 crore in the last financial year.

The budget of many countries except Maldives was reduced
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also made a big announcement of help for Mauritius. An amount of Rs 370 crore was allocated for it. However, it was Rs 400 crore last financial year. This year’s budget for Myanmar also decreased from Rs 400 crore to Rs 250 crore. No change was made in the budget for Maldives. This year also Rs 400 crore has been allocated for Maldives. Rs 100 crore has also been approved in the budget for Iran’s Chabahar Port.

The budget of Nepal and Sri Lanka has been increased
However, this time the Modi government has increased the budget allocation for Nepal and Sri Lanka. In the financial year 2024-25, Rs 700 crore was allocated as assistance to Nepal, which was Rs 550 crore earlier. Rs 245 crore was allocated for Sri Lanka this year, while last year this amount was Rs 150 crore.

Tension arises in relations between India and Maldives
There is tension in the relations between Maldives and India at this time. China is also taking advantage of this. On the instructions of China, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu takes a tough stand against India. Diplomatic relations between India and Maldives became more tense in January this year. Actually, some MPs of Maldives had made insulting statements during PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep. After which there was an upheaval in Maldives politics.
