New Delhi. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has given a befitting reply to the allegations of Inzamam-ul-Haq. Pakistan’s Inzamam-ul-Haq had made serious allegations against Indian bowlers after India’s victory over Australia in the T20 World Cup match. Inzamam had said that the Indian team has done serious work on the ball to achieve reverse swing. The former Pakistani captain was indirectly accusing India of ball tampering.
India made it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup by defeating Australia by 24 runs on Monday. Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took three wickets in this match. Inzamam-ul-Haq accused Arshdeep Singh and the Indian team of tampering with the ball on a Pakistani TV channel.
Inzamam-ul-Haq said, ‘When Arshdeep was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reverse swinging. The new ball does not reverse swing so quickly. This means that the ball was prepared for this by the 12th-13th over. This ball was ready for reverse swing. The umpires will have to keep their eyes open.’
Rohit Sharma held a press conference a day before the India-England semi-final. During this, when Rohit was asked about Inzamam’s allegations, he advised the former Pakistan captain to keep an open mind. Rohit said, ‘The wickets here (West Indies) are very dry. All teams are getting reverse swing. You need to keep your mind open. This is not Australia.’
