T20 World cup: Pakistan should not lose even the last match, will face the giant killer, Babar Azam will come down to save his honour

Lauderhill. It may be difficult for the Pakistan team, which has already been eliminated from the race for the Super Eight of the ICC T20 World Cup, to save face in the last league match. After losing to an underrated team like the USA, questions are being raised on the credibility of the team. The Pakistan team will try to end its campaign in the tournament on a positive note by registering a win against Ireland on Sunday. The Irish team has given a shock to Pakistan before the World Cup.

Pakistan failed to make it to the Super Eight from Group A due to defeats against USA and India. It needs to seriously consider its performance but before that it will have to overcome the challenge of Ireland. Ireland defeated Pakistan by a big margin in a bilateral match before the T20 World Cup and hence a tough contest is expected between them.

Ireland is the only team in the group that has not won a single match so far. They will also be eyeing to end their campaign with a win. This will be possible only if the weather permits because it has been raining continuously here for the last few days. Co-host USA was able to make it to the Super 8 only because their match against Ireland was washed out due to rain. Due to this, Pakistan was also out of the tournament.

The teams are as follows:

Pakistan: Babar Azam (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan (wicketkeeper), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan.

Ireland: Paul Stirling (captain), Mark Adair, Ross Adair, Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Graham Hume, Josh Little*, Barry McCarthy, Neil Rock (wicketkeeper), Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker (wicketkeeper), Ben White, Craig Young.
