Suryakumar Yadav (50 not out) and Shivam Dubey (31 not out) made an unbroken partnership of 67 runs in 65 balls for the fourth wicket to give the team victory.
Rohit said after the match, ‘We knew that it would be difficult to score so many runs. The credit for achieving this goes to us. Suryakumar and Dubey performed well in the end.’ Praising the American players for giving a tough fight in the match, Rohit said, ‘We have played with many players in America. I am happy to see the development of their cricket. We have seen them playing in MLC. They are hard-working players and are making their mark in international cricket.’
On this occasion, Rohit said that he is feeling relieved after reaching the Super Eight but the conditions on this New York ground were very difficult. He said, ‘Arshdeep started brilliantly. We wanted to test our options in bowling, so Dubey also bowled. Reaching the Super Eight is a big relief. It was not easy to play here.
