T20 World Cup: 1 team almost out of the race for semi-finals, decision on the other to be taken by night, interesting battle of Super 8

New Delhi. The battle for the Super 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup is on and the chances of the teams reaching the semi-finals are also increasing and decreasing. While England’s defeat against South Africa has shaken its hopes, West Indies’ big win over America has brought it back in the race. Out of the four teams in both the groups playing in the Super 8, only the top two teams will secure a ticket to the semi-finals. Out of these, one team is almost out while the name of the other team can also be revealed tonight.

The matches played in ICC T20 World Cup Super 8 in the last two days have made the race for the semi-finals even more interesting. After winning the first match, England lost while West Indies registered their first win in Super 8 after losing. The Windies team achieved the target of 129 runs against America in just 10.5 overs and won by 9 wickets. After this win, the team’s net run rate has become better than both South Africa and England. This means that if England wins the next match against America, then it will have to keep the margin big because if West Indies defeats South Africa, then it will be able to make it to the semi-finals.

One team almost out of the semi-finals
The defeat of America against West Indies has almost ended its hopes of reaching the semi-finals. The co-host team which came close to victory against South Africa lost badly in this match. Now the team has only one match left against England. Even if it wins this match and South Africa defeats West Indies, it will be difficult for it to go ahead. Both England and West Indies are better than America in net run rate.

A decision on a team can be made at night
Rohit Sharma’s Team India will play the Super 8 match against Bangladesh tonight at 8 pm Indian time. The Indian team has already won its first match against Afghanistan and it just has to win the next match. Bangladesh had lost to Australia in the first Super 8 match, so as soon as it loses to India, it will almost be out of the race for the semi-finals. Because if Bangladesh defeats Afghanistan in the last match and the Afghanistan team defeats Australia, then there can be a chance for it.
