Elon Musk said that the African country Sierra Leone has become the 100th country and the 10th African nation to connect to Starlink. In May, the company launched Starlink service in Indonesia and Fiji. According to Elon Musk, no long-term contract is required to order high-speed internet service with Starlink.

The company has also received approval to launch satellite-based internet service in Sri Lanka. However, Starlink has not received approval from the Indian government. In the case of India, the investigation on the commercial aspect has been completed, in which issues like foreign investment and net worth have been taken into consideration. Also, the technical requirements have also been examined according to the licensing rules in the country.
Once Starlink is approved, it will be issued a Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) Services License, which is required to provide satellite communication services in the country.
Recently, 21 satellites of Starlink were destroyed in space. They were launched from Falcon-9 rocket. The launch was successful, but after reaching space, there was a technical problem in the second stage of the rocket, due to which the launch of the satellites could not be completed.
