Bihar News: A case of Taliban punishment to a youth of Gopalganj has come to light in Kasai Mohalla of Siwan. The incident took place on the night of 12 September. A youth was held hostage on the charge of stealing ganja and his fingers were chopped off. The victim has been identified as Subas Goswami, a resident of Koyala Deva village of Fulwaria police station of Gopalganj. According to Subas, he stole ganja from Charkha Baba of Kasai Mohalla and sold it in the market.

It is alleged that Subas was caught on charges of theft and a part of his wrist including four of his fingers were chopped off with a sharp weapon. After the incident, Subas was admitted to a private hospital in an unconscious state, from where he was sent home on Friday.

Victim’s family hopes for justice

The financial condition of the victim’s family is very poor and they lack money even for treatment. An FIR has not been registered with the police. The victim’s family has made the video of this incident viral and has appealed to the Siwan police to take action. The family says that considering the seriousness of the case, the police should take immediate action and the culprits should get severe punishment. They have also appealed to the administration and human rights organizations for help, so that the victim can get justice and recurrence of such incidents can be prevented in future.

Police engaged in investigation

Meanwhile, Siwan police has started investigating the case, but no accused has been arrested yet. Police has contacted the victim’s family and has assured them of giving priority to the investigation of the case.
