Brahm Singh Tanwar: A few months are left for the Delhi Assembly elections, before which BJP has suffered a big setback. Veteran BJP leader Brahm Singh Tanwar has joined the Aam Aadmi Party. ‘AAP’ convenor Arvind Kejriwal included him in the party. Brahm Singh Tanwar has won the assembly elections from Mehrauli in 1993 and 1998 and from Chhatarpur in 2013.
Tanwar has been a continuous member of the party since its inception. Brahm Singh Tanwar had gone to jail during the Emergency in 1975. Tanwar contested his first election in 1977 and won as an independent candidate and became a corporation councilor. In this way, Brahm Singh Tanwar has been MLA thrice and councilor thrice.
There is a possibility that Brahm Singh Tanwar may contest elections from Chhatarpur on AAP ticket. Kartar Singh Tanwar, the sitting MLA from Chhatarpur, had recently left AAP and joined BJP.
