Himachal Pradesh News: Shimla police’s gross negligence has come to light. The accused escaped from the lockup by cutting the window grill in the dark of the night. The police did not even get a clue about the accused’s escape. After getting the information, there was chaos in Dhali police station. The senior officials were informed about the matter immediately. Till now the accused who escaped from police custody has not been caught.
The accused has been identified as 23-year-old Akash Mathur. Akash Mathur, a resident of Delhi, was arrested with 14.6 grams of chitta. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused. The police produced the accused in court and obtained his remand.

The police has formed four teams to arrest the accused. Blockades have been put up at various places. CCTV footage is also being scanned. There is a possibility that Akash Mathur may flee from Shimla. Shimla police has launched a campaign against drug smugglers.
He was arrested under NDPS Act
In the six months till June 30 this year, 221 drug peddlers have been arrested. Eight women are also included among the 221 arrested drug smugglers. Shimla police has arrested 171 drug smugglers from Himachal, 25 from Punjab, eight from Nepal, four from Uttar Pradesh, three from Haryana, two from Delhi, three from Uttarakhand, one from Chandigarh, three from Rajasthan and one from Bihar. 90 vehicles used in drug smuggling have also been impounded. Police has also completed preparations to attach the drug smugglers’ property worth about one crore rupees.
