In the month of Sawan, every Monday night at 2:30 pm, the doors of Mahakal temple are opened and Aarti begins.
Chairman of Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee and Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said that maximum number of devotees can visit Mahakaleshwar temple. Many types of arrangements have been made for this.
The devotees who visit Mahakaleshwar temple every day are able to have darshan of Lord Mahakal within 15 to 20 minutes on normal days. Similarly, in the month of Sawan, the target has been set to allow devotees to have darshan within half an hour. However, on Monday, Saturday and Sunday, due to the large crowd, the time increases a little.
Bhasma Aarti remains the main center of attraction for Shiva devotees from all over the world. Pandit Ashish Pujari told that the time of Aarti changes in the month of Sawan.
Pandit Ashish Pujari said that on normal days the doors are opened at 4:00 am for Bhasma Aarti, whereas during the month of Sawan the doors of the Lord’s court are opened at 3:00 am. Apart from this, every Monday the doors are opened at 2:30 am and the worship of the Lord begins.
Mrinal Meena, administrator of Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee, said that on normal days, entry is given through permission for the daily Bhasma Aarti held at Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Around 2000 devotees can enter the Bhasma Aarti. Due to the large crowd during the days of Sawan, 15 to 20000 devotees will be able to have darshan daily through the mobile Bhasma Aarti.
According to Mrinal Meena, there will be no need to take permission for this. Any devotee who arrives for Bhasma Aarti without permission will be given darshan of Lord Mahakal through mobile Bhasma Aarti.
