Sawan 2024: First Monday of Sawan, Devotees queue up in Shiva temples from 12 midnight

In view of the first Monday of Sawan, queues of devotees started forming from 12 o’clock on Sunday night to have the darshan of Bholenath. The doors of Shiva temples started opening from 2 o’clock in the night. The temples echoed with the chants of Bhole Baba throughout the night. Queues of devotees started forming at Anandeshwar temple from 12 o’clock in the night. The doors of the temple were closed after Shayan Aarti at 10 o’clock in the night, which were opened for the devotees after Mangala Aarti at 2 o’clock in the night.

Force was deployed in the temple premises. Shayan Aarti was performed at Jageshwar temple in Nawabganj at 10:30 pm on Sunday. After Jalabhishek at 3:30 pm, the doors were opened for the devotees to visit. At the same time, Baba was decorated at Vankhandeshwar temple in P Road and Nageshwar temple in Nayaganj and the doors were opened. Crowds of devotees started gathering from night in the Shivalayas of the city including Kailash temple in Shivala, Kherepati in Mall Road, Nepali temple in Kalyanpur, Aughadeshwar temple in Dhankutti, Mukteshwar temple in Shyamnagar.
