Saudi Arabia Surveying and Upgrading Four Thousand Kilometers of Roads for Hajj pilgrimage

Saudi Arabia: Haj pilgrimage has great importance in Islam. Millions of Muslim pilgrims go to Saudi Arabia every year for Hajj pilgrimage. Due to this, high level arrangements are also made by Saudi Arabia for the convenience of the devotees. This time too, in view of the Haj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has taken special care of the convenience of the pilgrims.

According to Khaleej Times report, Saudi Arabia has prepared 4,000 km long roads for Haj pilgrimage. Under this, resurfacing of 158 km long road has been done. Apart from this, cracks and potholes have been filled at 403 sites. Besides, repair work was done on 2,361 kilometers of road. Not only this, sand dunes have been removed from 1,240 km of road. Also, cleaning work is included at 421 places.

Roads prove important for Haj pilgrimage

The road network in Arabia becomes very important for pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage, because in addition to air and water routes, pilgrims from neighboring countries of Saudi Arabia also come here by road. Saudi Arabia has completed all the necessary work to ensure that passengers traveling through these road routes do not face any kind of problem.

Badr Al Dalami took stock of the roads

Badr Al Dalami, acting CEO of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Roads, inspected more than 2,000 km of roads leading to major religious sites. This includes the Riyadh-Taif road. If Saudi Arabian officials are to be believed, this time more than 27 thousand buses are expected to arrive for Haj pilgrimage.

When will Hajj start?

This time Haj pilgrimage will start from June 14. The process of going to Saudi Arabia for Muslim pilgrims from countries around the world including India has started. In the year 2023, more than 1.8 million pilgrims went on Hajj. Hajj has great importance in Islam. Performing Hajj is also included in the five duties mentioned in Islam.
