Satyadev Sharma of Aligarh has been serving humanity without eating food for the last 21 years.

Wasim Ahmed / Aligarh. It is said that service to humanity is above all religions. A living example of this can be seen in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a person named Satyadev Sharma has been engaged in the service of humanity by not eating food for the last 21 years. It may sound strange. But, it is absolutely true. Actually let us tell you that Satyadev Sharma, who left his village about 37 years ago and runs an old age home in Jawahar Nagar, Aligarh, had a dream 21 years ago. In the dream, Lord Shankar said that my dear, you should give up food and serve humanity. Since then I have been serving people somewhere or the other in some way or the other.

After this, Lord Shiva once again appeared in the dream of Satyadev Sharma. Lord Shiva said that you should open an ashram and serve the elderly and helpless people. So since then he has opened an old age home and is serving the helpless and orphan people. Satyadev Sharma is very happy to serve humanity. Satyadev Sharma’s family consists of three sons, wife, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. But he is living his life away from all these by serving the elderly in an old age home.

There are 22 people in the old age home
Satyadev Sharma, who runs the ashram, told Local 18 that I am a resident of Chakhathal village in Atrauli tehsil. There was some quarrel in the family so I came to live in Jawahar Nagar. I have not eaten food for 21 years. The reason was that I worship Shankar ji. One day 21 years ago, Shankar ji told me in a dream that I should give up food and serve humanity. I am serving people. 5 years ago I opened this old age home. There are 22 people in it.

Make a living by eating fruits
I like serving them a lot. God makes me do all this. I do it. My soul also gets satisfaction in doing this. Instead of eating food, I make lemon sherbet and drink it four times in summers and three times in winters. Apart from this, I survive by eating fruits and raw peanuts. Right now I have to serve more people. The ashram is also small. I want the ashram to become bigger. They should come to this ashram so that I can serve them too. Apart from this, the order of the Lord has not come yet. When his order comes, then I will start eating food. I get a lot of support from people to serve this humanity. I am immersed in the devotion of the Lord. For the last 15 years, I have not met any member of my family. I live here in this ashram with the elderly people. I serve them.

what do people say
Mithilesh Devi Sharma from Rajasthan, who lives in an old age home, says that Sharma ji serves everyone here in the old age home. He takes good care of all the old people. He has not eaten anything else for the last 21 years. He only eats fruits. He drinks sherbet and lemon sherbet. He takes care of us. This is how he is living his life.

What do experts say
When Dr Vikas Malhotra was talked to about this, he said that we get carbohydrates, proteins and minerals from food. But, if a person is not eating food and is only eating peanuts or fruits, then he also gets carbohydrates, proteins and minerals from them. It is medically possible that a person can live on things like fruits, peanuts without eating food. He can live comfortably.
