Captain Rohit Sharma, who won the ICC T20 trophy along with Rahul Dravid, will also go on the Sri Lanka tour. Earlier there were reports of him taking a break from the ODI series but he agreed to play. According to the information, Gautam Gambhir wanted Rohit Sharma to lead the ODI team on the Sri Lanka tour.

The team chosen by the selectors along with the new coach Gautam Gambhir has been revealed. Gautam Gambhir’s influence is completely visible on the Indian team. Hardik Pandya has been relieved from the captaincy of T20 and the command has been given to Suryakumar Yadav. Rohit Sharma will play to strengthen his preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy.
