Today, a meeting will be held between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the protesters to find a solution to the ongoing deadlock in the rape and murder case of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal. On Saturday, CM Mamata Banerjee reached Swasthya Bhavan to meet the protesting doctors. After this meeting, the doctors sent a letter to the CM’s office and asked for time for a meeting. The Chief Minister called the doctors to meet her at her residence at six in the evening today. A delegation of doctors has reached Mamata Banerjee’s residence for this meeting. DGP Rajiv Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health Secretary also reached to attend this meeting.

After meeting Mamata Banerjee at the protest site, Dr Arif, who was present there, spoke to the media. He said, “Mamata Banerjee came to our protest site. We are happy to know that the doors for talks have opened from both sides. For this, we have sent a mail to the CM’s office, in which we wrote that we are happy with your visit. We are sure that you are ready to discuss the five-point demand addressed by the West Bengal Junior Doctors Front. We are also ready for discussion. Whenever she calls us, we are ready to go.”
The mother of the deceased doctor spoke to the media
Before the meeting between the Chief Minister and the doctors, the mother of the deceased doctor spoke to the media. She said, “We want the CM to accept the five demands of the junior doctors and find a solution. I see that the administration, the police administration and the health department are all guilty in this. The junior doctors are facing the most problems. We want a quick solution by talking to them and accepting their demands.”
