You won’t get a diamond pattern on the back panel, but multi-coloured lines are visible on the back of the phone when light falls from different angles.

Apart from this, the other big change is that Realme has used Gorilla Glass 5 instead of polycarbonate on the back panel. It does not get scratched easily. The white finish looks good, fingerprints are also not easily visible on it. Polycarbonate has been used to make the body but due to the silver paint, it gives it the look of aluminum.

Realme XT has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen. The phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, which unlocks the phone quickly. We did not face any problem during use. The phone has a dewdrop notch on the top of the front panel and the 16-megapixel selfie camera has been placed in the notch. It can also be used for face unlock, it works well in daylight and at night.

Realme XT has a separate slot for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card on the left side. The USB Type-C port and headphone jack are placed at the bottom of the phone. The camera layout on the back of the phone is similar to the company’s Realme 5 Series except for the 64-megapixel primary camera sensor.

In our battery loop test, the phone lasted for 20 hours and 36 minutes. On heavy usage, the phone lasted for a day and on light media usage, it lasted for one and a half days. During testing, we noticed that the phone lasted for the whole day even after using the camera, gaming tests and running benchmarks. Realme XT Camera

Realme 5 Pro And Realme X ,Review) Both are equipped with 48 megapixel camera sensors but this Realme phone has a 64 megapixel Samsung GW1 image sensor. The phone uses 4-in-1 pixel binning technology which saves a 16 megapixel picture. If you want, you can also shoot at 64 megapixel resolution.

We were expecting some new additions to the Realme XT’s camera app, but there was none. You still can’t shoot videos using the wide-angle camera and there’s no way to adjust the level of background blur in portrait mode. The good news is that Realme has revealed that it will add a Nightscape mode for the selfie camera in a future update.

The 64-megapixel primary sensor captures detailed, pixel-binning shots. HDR works well, colours had good saturation, and autofocus is fast. Distant objects also looked good in landscape mode. Compared to pixel-binning images, the photos captured by the Realme XT in full-resolution had cooler colour tones and less noise in shadow areas.

Even in low light, the sensor captures colours and details well. There is some grain in the shadow areas, but you will see this only when you zoom in on the picture. Close-up shots capture good detail. Focus speed was fast and the built-in AI does object recognition well.

Focus speed was fast even in low light, colours and details were captured well. At times, the camera app boosted colours, making the scene or object look vivid and dramatic. The other cameras are the same as we have seen earlier in the Realme 5 Pro. The 8-megapixel wide-angle camera captured details well in daylight but colours were not very accurate.

The 2-megapixel macro camera helps in taking extreme close-up shots. Realme XT does a good job when using portrait mode. Edge detection was also good and details were crisp due to the 2-megapixel depth sensor. The 16-megapixel front camera on the front panel of Realme XT takes good selfies.

The phone is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution and 30 frames per second but without stabilisation. Image quality was good but colours are over-boosted. You can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second or 60 frames per second.

Our verdict

Realme XT is another strong option in the company’s smartphone lineup, but customers also have other options in this price segment. Realme XT, Realme 5 Pro And Realme X ,Review) The choice of phone between these two depends on what you want from the phone. Talking about specifications, Realme 5 Pro and Realme XT are very close to each other.

The top variant of Realme XT is priced at Rs 18,999. If you want a good camera in your phone, then the four cameras in Realme XT can prove useful for you. In this price segment, Realme XT is equipped with many features. Considering the primary camera of the phone, the camera app should have had more features and low-light video at 4K could also have been better.
