Realme is working on 300W fast charging technology for smartphone

Realme is going to take a new step in fast-charging technology. In a recent interview with YouTuber TheTechChap, Realme Global Marketing Head Francis Wong revealed that the company is currently testing 300W charging technology. Here we are telling you in detail about Realme’s fast charging technology.

In terms of charging technology Realme has always been at the forefront. In 2021, the company introduced its 65W DartCharge technology with the GT Master Edition smartphone that can fully charge its 4300mAh battery in 33 minutes. Next year in 2022, Realme introduced the GT Neo 3 with 150W charging support that can charge a 4500mAh battery from 0 to 50 percent in just 5 minutes.

The brand launched its flagship device last year Realme GT Neo 5 introduced the 240W charging speed, allowing users to fully charge their phone in less than 10 minutes. Its sequel is now designed as an even faster 300W solution. Redmi Currently the only brand with 300W charging technology for phones. Their demo shows impressive results, with the phone charging up to 50 percent in less than three minutes and fully charging in just under 5 minutes.

There is not much information about Realme’s 300W fast charging technology at the moment. Charging time or other shortcomings were not discussed in the interview with Wong. It is also not clear when this technology will be commercially available in smartphones or not. Fast charging provides better convenience, especially for users who do not stay in one place for a long time, then this is a better option for them. However, it also has its disadvantages, because due to fast charging speed the phone can get hotter, which directly affects the battery health and longevity.

Apart from this, the company needs to make it clear that there is better infrastructure to support such high-watt capacity charging, such as larger and more vapor chamber cooling systems, which may increase the price of the phone. It will be interesting to see if Realme can fix these issues and bring 300W fast charging to the market.
