Rajasthan News: Independent MLA from Shiv Vidhansabha seat of Rajasthan, Ravindra Singh Bhati raised questions about the fee hike in Jodhpur University. I started my political life as the student union president from Jodhpur University. Youths of 36 communities expressed their trust in a youth coming from an ordinary family. For the first time in the history of 57 years, an independent was elected to the biggest panchayat of the state. On 13 September, for the first time, I gheraoed the Rajasthan Vidhansabha over the fee hike of the youth. One day, for the first time, I came to the Rajasthan Vidhansabha.
‘Financial burden placed on students’
Ravindra Singh Bhati further said that I saw some students protesting in Jaipur today because their fees have been increased a lot under the new education policy. Generally, fees cannot be increased by more than 10 percent anywhere. The order of the Raj Bhavan is followed and it is the duty of the Chancellor to follow the order. But it is very sad that these orders were not followed in Jodhpur University. Financial burden was put on the students coming from rural background. Which is especially painful for me because I have come out of the same university. This time 5 to 6 thousand rupees more are being taken from each student in the name of online form. When such a blow is done to the students, it is sad and painful.
‘Don’t break students financially’
MLA Bhati said that earlier when annual exams were held, fees were charged once a year but now fees are being charged every six months. The fee which was Rs 3000 earlier has been increased to Rs 6000-8000. He said that I condemn the financial burden being put on students and also asked the university administration not to break the students financially and solve the problems faced by them.
MLA Bhati said that I have come from student politics, I have a deep connection with all of them. Because it is because of them that I am standing here. I will definitely put forward their point strongly. If needed in the coming time, this matter will also be raised in the biggest panchayat of the state.
