New Delhi. Industrialist Ratan Tata has invested in a pharmaceutical startup Generic Aadhaar. The founder and CEO of Generic Aadhaar is Arjun Deshpande and he is only 18 years old. He started this company only two years ago. It does retail business of generic base medicines. It procures medicines from manufacturers and sells them to retailers. The amount invested by Ratan Tata in this startup has not been disclosed yet.

Generic Aadhaar has partnered with 30 pharma companies in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Odisha. At present, the annual revenue of this company is Rs 6 crore and the target is to increase it to Rs 150-200 crore in the next three years.

The company says that in the coming days, it will partner with 1000 pharmacies in states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, New Delhi, Goa and Rajasthan and sell cheap medicines. Generic Aadhaar will help the unorganized sector through technology. The company has 55 employees which include pharmacists, IT engineers and marketing professionals.
