CBI Raid In Rajasthan: CBI raided 10 places on Friday (October 18) in connection with illegal sand mining in Rajasthan. These raids were conducted in Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer and Bhilwara of Rajasthan. In this, searches were conducted at homes, offices and different places of people associated with illegal sand mining. According to CBI, during this raid they have found very important documents and other evidence.
Actually, this raid of CBI was done in connection with the ongoing investigation in a case of illegal sand mining in Rajasthan. According to CBI, this case was registered after the order of Rajasthan High Court. CBI had registered this case on 26 April 2024. A case related to illegal sand mining was registered in Bundi, Rajasthan. CBI had also taken over the investigation of that case.
There may be more arrests
In this case, a person was also arrested who was carrying 40 metric tons without a valid license. During the investigation of this case, the owner of the dumper was arrested by Rajasthan Police on 22 February. According to CBI, the investigation of the case is going on. Some more arrests may also be made after investigation of the recovered documents.
Raids were conducted earlier also
To speed up the investigation of this illegal mining case, CBI had conducted a raid once in June 2024. During this, the investigating officers had seized cash worth Rs 20 thousand and a pistol. Friday’s raid was part of a series of investigations in which the CBI was searching for documents and evidence from the hideouts of the suspects.
CBI officials said the aim of the raid was to unearth gangs involved in illegal sand mining and collect evidence against them. Investigators are trying to find out who is involved and who may be involved in this illegal sand mining business.
