For the talented children of government schools, the government is now going to provide a tablet along with a free internet connection for three years. This free internet SIM will be provided to meritorious students of 8th, 10th and 12th class. For this, the education department is going to buy 55,800 SIMs. In this SIM, children will get 1 GB of data per day for free for three years.
Till now, the Bhajan Lal government used to give only tablets to the students who performed well in the 8th, 10th and 12th class examinations of the state. But now the department will also provide three years of internet along with the tablet. The purpose of the scheme is that by getting free internet along with the tablet, children will be able to study online easily.
For this, the Secondary Education Department has started the process of purchasing about 55 thousand 800 SIMs in the first phase. For this, the government is going to spend about 18 crore rupees on the scheme. According to the Education Department, this purchase process will be completed by the end of this month and in the coming session, children will get three years of free internet along with the tablet. Under this, one GB data per day i.e. 30 GB data per month will be available and if it is not useful, this data can be added in the next month.
