CUET UG for undergraduate admission in universities can be conducted completely online from next year. After the leak of the pen-paper based NEET UG paper, there is a consensus among experts on conducting CUET UG again through computer based mode.
On the demand of the students, it was decided in April to conduct the 15 main subjects of CUET UG from computer-based to hybrid mode. But just three months after the decision, there is a consideration to conduct it again from hybrid to online. According to sources, the government believes that computer-based exams are safe because there are no formalities like question paper, answer sheet, etc. Due to this, the chances of cheating are also very low. Apart from this, there is also no risk of paper leak.
Experts believe that there is always a risk of paper leak in exams which are only pen-paper based. The biggest problem is in big level exams where up to 24 lakh students are appearing. More than 11 lakh students appear in JEE Main, but it is safe because it is online. On the other hand, NEET UG is pen-paper based, in which the paper got leaked.
