UP News: The Allahabad District Court will pronounce its verdict in the case of underworld don Bablu Srivastava today. The trial court will pronounce its verdict in the kidnapping case of Prayagraj’s bullion trader Pankaj Mahendra. Bullion trader Pankaj was kidnapped on 5 September 2015. After the kidnapping, a ransom of Rs 10 crore was demanded from his family. A case was registered against 10 people in Prayagraj city police station in this case.
Bablu was accused of hatching a kidnapping conspiracy while in jail. The responsibility of kidnapping was given to his close relative and his henchmen. However, the police recovered businessman Pankaj Mahendra safely from Fatehpur. Statements of 21 people were recorded in this case. After the completion of the hearing, the court reserved its judgment on 27 April.
Will be brought to court in bullet proof jacket
In view of the verdict, Babul Srivastava will also be presented in Allahabad court today. Bablu Srivastava will be presented amidst tight security arrangements. Last year on 16 October, Bablu Srivastava was brought in a bulletproof jacket to record his statement in the same case. Today too, Bablu Srivastava is expected to be brought in a bulletproof jacket in view of his security.
The businessman was kidnapped in 2015
Let us tell you that Pankaj Mahindra, a bullion trader in Prayagraj, had a jewellery shop in Jawahar Square Kotwali area. He was kidnapped on the night of 5 September 2015 while he was going home in his car after closing the shop. After which the miscreants left his car near the Lathe Hanuman Temple in Bandhwa, Sangam. The miscreants had demanded Rs 10 crore as ransom. The police acted swiftly in the case and recovered him safely from a farm house in Fatehpur district.
