In Quetta, Pakistan, a police officer shot dead a person accused of blasphemy in a police station. The incident is said to have taken place on Thursday. Syed Khan was attacked by a mob on Wednesday on charges of insulting Prophet Muhammad. After this, he was arrested by the police.

According to the Times of India report, police officer Mohammad Khurram said that the police officer who shot and killed the man has been arrested. However, he refused to give any further information in this case.

Mob attacked police station

Local people said that Syed Khan had made controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad. After his arrest, people surrounded the police station. The crowd was demanding to hand over the accused Khan. Not only this, the workers of the Islamic organization had also blocked the road outside the police station. During this time, a grenade was also thrown at the police station. In 2022, a mob attacked churches and homes of Christians in Punjab province. The mob claimed that they had seen a local Christian and his friend insulting pages of the Quran. The attack in Jaranwala was condemned across the country, but Christians say that those involved in the violence have not yet been prosecuted.
