Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 program at Vigyan Bhawan in the capital today on the occasion of completion of 10 years of the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission on the day of Gandhi Jayanti. During this, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of many projects related to cleanliness worth more than Rs 9600 crore.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had issued a statement in this regard on Monday. In this, the PMO had told that Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 program on the 155th Gandhi Jayanti at Vigyan Bhawan on October 2 at around 10 am. Meanwhile, projects worth over Rs 6,800 crore aimed at enhancing urban water and sewage systems under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and AMRUT 2.0, water quality and effluent treatment in the Ganga basin areas under the National Mission for Clean Ganga, 10 projects worth more than Rs 1550 crore focused on management improvement and 15 compressed biogas (CBG) plant projects worth more than Rs 1332 crore will be launched under the Gobar Dhan Yojana.
The Swachh Bharat Diwas program will showcase India’s decade-long cleanliness achievements and the recently concluded Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, the PMO said. This program will also set the stage for the next phase of this national effort. The statement said that the theme of Swachhta Hi Seva 2024, ‘Swabhav Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta’ has once again united the nation in its commitment towards cleanliness, public health and environmental sustainability.
