The first test will be played from 22nd November
The 5-match Test series between India and Australia is to be played from November 22. The first test between the two teams will be played in Perth. Due to this he will not play the first test match. He will join the team before the second test.
KL Rahul is sure to open
It was considered certain that KL Rahul would open in place of Rohit, but in the meantime the team has suffered another setback. Shubhman Gill has injured his thumb. He has a fracture in his thumb. Devdutt can replace Gill
Even though the Indian team is not saying anything directly about Gill’s injury, India A batsman Devdutt Padikkal has suddenly been stopped in Australia. This is an indication that if Gill is not fit then Devdutt Padikkal may be asked to bat at number three. 24 year old Padikkal has been in Australia for the last 20 days. During this period, he has played innings of 88, 36 and 26 runs in the matches of India A and Australia A. Due to this, he can return to the playing eleven. Gill played the only Test for India this year against England, in which he scored 65 runs.
