Pankaja Munde said that if she had won the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, she would have been considered a ‘hero’, but some people would not have liked it. Speaking to reporters in Maharashtra’s Latur district, the BJP national secretary said that her supporters are worried about her uncertain future.

Pankaja Munde lost the Beed seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to Bajrang Sonawane of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) by a narrow margin of 6,553 votes. The BJP leader said, “I got 6.7 lakh votes. If I had won, I would have been considered a hero, but some people did not like it.”

Munde said she faced a five-year exile after losing the 2019 election and her supporters are worried about her future after the recent defeat. She said, “I did not contest the election for myself. I did not know I would contest until the party announced my candidature.” Munde said she would formulate her next strategy after the upcoming state assembly elections.
