Pakistani Father Minor Daughter To Marry 72 Year Old Kyber Police Bride

Minor Marriage in Pakistan: Many strange cases related to marriage are reported from all over the world. A similar case has also come to light from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Here a father tried to get his 12-year-old daughter married to a 72-year-old man. After getting the information, the police stopped this marriage. The police has arrested the groom in this case.

The name of the minor girl’s father is Alam Syed. Regarding this case, the police said that the girl’s father Syed had made a deal to sell his daughter for five lakhs. He had said that if he did not get this much money in the marriage, he would not marry. The police intervened before the Nikah and stopped it. Apart from this, the police have arrested the groom Habib Khan and ‘Nikah Khwaan’ (one who conducts the marriage).

The girl’s father absconded

The girl’s father has fled from the spot. A case has been registered against the girl’s father, the groom and the Nikaah Khawan under the Marriage Act. It is worth mentioning that such incidents keep happening in Pakistan even after the law against child marriage has been implemented. Earlier, such incidents had happened in Rajanpur and Thatta in Pakistan. The police reached the spot and stopped it.

Recently, another case came to light

A similar case has come to light in Pakistan earlier as well. Police had stopped the marriage of a minor in Rajanpur, Punjab, where an 11-year-old girl was getting married to a 40-year-old man. Police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Apart from this, on May 6, police in Swat arrested a 70-year-old man for marrying a minor girl.
