In 2017, the population of Hindus in Pakistan was 35 lakh, which has now increased to 38 lakh in 2023. Now Hindus have become the largest minority community in Pakistan.
According to Dawn’s report, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released the results of Census 2023. The total population of Pakistan in 2023 is 24,04,58,089. The share of Muslims in the total population was 96.47 percent in 2017, which has now decreased slightly to 96.35 percent in 2023.
Sikhs have also increased, Pakistan’s population will double
According to the latest figures, the number of Hindus in Pakistan has increased from 35 lakh to 38 lakh in 2023, but the share of Hindus in the total population has decreased. This figure has decreased from 1.73 to 1.61 percent, because the number of other minority communities has also increased. The population of Christians increased from 26 lakh to 33 lakh. Their share in the total population has increased from 1.27 to 1.37 percent.
The population of Sikhs is 15,998 and that of Parsi community is 2,348. The population of the entire country has increased at a growth rate of 2.55 percent to 24,04,58,089. Experts say that if Pakistan’s population grows at this pace, it may double by 2050.
There are more men in Pakistan
According to the data, the total number of men in Pakistan is 12,43,20,000, while the number of women is 11,71,50,000 and the sex ratio is 1.06. The transgender population in the country is 20,331. In 2023, 67 percent of Pakistan’s total population was below 30 years of age and 80 percent was below 40 years of age. At the same time, people aged 67 years or above were only 3.55 percent of the total population.
Divorces are decreasing
However, this time the correct figures have come regarding the marital life of the people. If we look at the figures of 2017, 66.12 percent of the total population was married, whereas in 2023 this figure was 64.79. However, the percentage of divorced population has decreased from 0.42 percent to 0.35 percent in 2023.
