Virat said goodbye to this format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Kohli says that this is the time when he should say goodbye to this format. Virat’s record in T20 International cricket has been excellent. He is the second batsman after Rohit to score the most runs in this format. Kohli’s coach said that Virat has announced his retirement on a very big occasion. All the fans are disappointed and I have received so many phone calls since night asking why he did this.

Virat Kohli played an innings of 76 runs against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final. He was adjudged the Player of the Match. Kohli said after the match that this T20 World Cup was his last series in this format. Now he wants to give a chance to the youth. Rajkumar Sharma was the first to congratulate the Indian team on its victory. He said, ‘First of all, I congratulate the entire team and the countrymen on becoming the world champion. During this, he broke the record of Suryakumar Yadav who has been awarded this award 15 times in this format. Virat achieved this feat in 125 T20 International matches while Surya achieved the feat of becoming Player of the Match 15 times in 68 T20 matches.
