The government accepted some of the demands of Laxman Hake
The government said that decisions have been taken on some demands. Decisions on some demands are still pending. An all-party meeting has been organized in the first week of the monsoon session to settle the pending demands. It was also assured that the state government will ensure that there is no compromise with the interests of the OBC community in the matter of reservation.

Let us tell you that yesterday at 5.30 pm, a detailed discussion was held between the OBC delegation and several ministers of the state government at Sahyadri Guest House-Malabar Hill regarding Laxman Hake’s fast and his demands. After the meeting, it was decided that a delegation of the state government led by minister and OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal will go to Jalna to meet Hake. They will convey the government’s message to him and then request him to break the fast.

Why was Laxman Hake on hunger strike?
OBC activist Laxman Haake wanted assurances from the government that OBC reservation will not be tampered with to accommodate the Maratha community. Haake and another activist Navnath Waghmare have been on a hunger strike in Wadigodri village of Jalna district since June 13. The OBC activists are demanding the cancellation of the Maharashtra government’s draft notification recognising Kunbis as ‘Rishi Soyare’, members of the Maratha community.
