Noida News: In view of the increasing traffic and jam problem on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Noida Authority has proposed to build an alternative route (6 lane elevated or 8 lane on ground) from Okhla Barrage to Yamuna Expressway. On 18 September, a letter has been sent to declare this route as a national highway. After which the further formalities for the implementation of the project will be completed so that the project can be brought to the ground. Due to the excessive increase in traffic density on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, people have to face the problem of severe jam.

Apart from this, air pollution is also increasing due to carbon emissions caused by traffic jams on the expressway. It is likely to increase further in the future. Keeping in view the above circumstances, present and future requirements, there is a plan to construct an additional expressway (6 lane elevated or 8 lane on ground) from Okhla Barrage to Yamuna Expressway via Hindon Yamuna Doab as an alternative route to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway for smooth traffic.

Authority wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary
Before giving a concrete shape to the plan, a letter has been sent by the Noida Authority to the Principal Secretary, Public Works Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on September 18 to declare the said route as a National Highway. After the government declares the said route as a National Highway, the further formalities for the implementation of the project will be completed so that the project can be put on the ground. This expressway will start from near Okhla Barrage and will pass through the Doab of Yamuna and Hindon and will be connected to the currently operational Yamuna Expressway.
