Bihar minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal was on Thursday appointed the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), replacing Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. A letter issued by the party headquarters in Delhi in the evening said that Jaiswal, a member of the Legislative Council, has been appointed the state unit chief by BJP national president JP Nadda and his appointment has come into effect “with immediate effect”. Choudhary was heading the BJP’s Bihar unit since March last year.
