RSS officials have fiercely attacked the Emergency without naming the Congress. Senior RSS official Sunil Ambekar said that we have to understand the people and reasons behind the situation that led to the imposition of Emergency. Due to which democracy and people’s rights were in danger.
Ambekar further said that Emergency was imposed only 25 years after India became an independent republic. This threat of Emergency, which ended democratic rights, did not come from abroad but from our own political system.
‘People were harassed in many ways during the emergency’
Ambekar said that I was very young during the Emergency. I was associated with the Vidyarthi Parishad for many years. The students of the country and the volunteers of the Sangh (RSS) and the people of the society, all came together and opposed the Emergency. During the period of Emergency, people had to face various types of oppression.
