Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections Result: Mahavikas Aghadi has performed well in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections. Congress has got unexpected success here in this election. Meanwhile, state Congress president Nana Patole said on Thursday (June 6) that his party expects a better distribution of seats on the basis of merit in the upcoming assembly elections in the state. Elections for the 288-member assembly in Maharashtra are likely in October this year.

Maharashtra Congress leader Nana Patole said while talking to the media, “Congress has emerged as the largest party in the three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in the Lok Sabha elections in the state. The distribution of seats for the upcoming assembly elections will be done on the basis of performance. We hope that seat sharing will be done properly.”

‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ also got credit for victory in elections

According to a PTI report, Nana Patole, who led the state in the parliamentary elections, was weighed down with 90 kg of ‘laddus’ to celebrate the party’s success. Patole said that his party cadre worked very hard and communicated effectively with the people before the elections. He also credited Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ for the party’s spectacular performance. The MVA comprises the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).

How many seats did Congress win in Maharashtra?

In the seat-sharing agreement for the general elections, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) had got the largest share of seats among the three parties. Out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats, the Uddhav faction contested 21 seats, followed by Congress on 17 and NCP (SP) on 10 seats.
