Angry devotees beat up the driver Anas when the side of the car hit the Kanwar on Delhi-Dehradun highway. They damaged the car and blocked the highway. The police barely saved the car driver. The jam was cleared by convincing the Kanwars.

On Sunday night around 9:30, a group of Kanwariyas stopped near Badedi Cut to have tea. During this time, their friend coming from Haridwar called and informed that a car had hit the Kanwar and gone towards Chhapar. The Kanwariyas got up from the Dhaba and reached the highway and stopped the car coming from behind. They vandalized the car and blocked it.

The car driver who hid at a dhaba to save his life was dragged out and beaten up. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot. The police somehow saved the car driver. The kanwadis were pacified by explaining things to them and the traffic was resumed by removing them from the highway. The car driver Anas had left for Meerut from Roorkee.

CO Sadar Raju Saav says that the Kanwar has not been broken. No Kanwariya has been hurt. The DVR of the CCTV camera installed at the Dhaba has been taken. Traffic is running smoothly on the highway.
