Mumbai Rain News: It is raining heavily in Mumbai. Due to the rain, the roads are submerged and traffic is also getting affected. Meanwhile, a red alert for rain has been issued in Mumbai. Due to the red alert, all schools and colleges have been closed.

BMC said that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai. In view of this, a holiday has been declared in all schools and colleges in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) area. In this regard, BMC has appealed to schools and teachers to inform the representatives of the parents and take necessary precautions and ensure proper coordination at the school level.

Rain wreaked havoc in Mumbai
Incessant rains have led to severe waterlogging in Pune and Kolhapur, disrupting normal life and forcing schools to close. The situation is also grim in Mumbai, where July was the second wettest month ever, receiving a total of over 150 cm of rain. Several residential areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune have been flooded while several people have died in rain-related incidents in the district.

Amid heavy rains, Air India issued an advisory informing passengers that some of its flights to Mumbai have been delayed and rerouted.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs with heavy rainfall at some places in the next 24 hours from 8 am. An official said that due to continuous rain, the water level of Mithi river, which flows through the industrial center of the city, has risen by 2.5 meters, while its danger mark is 4.2 meters.
