Andheri Chawl collapse: Three women were injured when a house collapsed on Andheri Kurla Road in Kula (W) area of ​​Mumbai on Sunday. According to a Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) report, the incident occurred at around 2:04 pm today. The incident took place at Radha Nagar Chawl located near the old cemetery in Jarimari.

The chawl had four to five rooms, was a brick-walled building with a ground floor and an upper floor with a sheet roof. It collapsed completely, following which the Mumbai Fire Brigade was informed.

The injured were immediately taken to the hospital
Three women were rescued from the debris and immediately rushed to Paramount Hospital in Sakinaka. According to Dr. Tasmia of Paramount Hospital, the injured included Afreen Sheikh (25 years), who had cuts on her face and neck caused by iron sheets.

The condition of the injured is stable
According to the information given by the doctors of Paramount Hospital, 25-year-old Afreen Shaikh has suffered severe injuries on her face and neck due to the iron sheet sinking on her. Whereas, 35-year-old Rasika has suffered severe back injury. Apart from this, Exter Nadar has not suffered much injury. He has got scratches at many places, due to which he has been referred to Ortho for examination. All the three injured are currently admitted in the hospital and the condition of all three is stable.

The intensity of rain is likely to decrease in Mumbai
The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red’ alert for Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, Satara, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts, predicting very heavy rains on Sunday. According to IMD data, in the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, the Colaba Observatory in south Mumbai recorded 92 mm of rain, while the Santacruz Observatory (representative of the western suburbs) recorded 142 mm of rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted less intense rain activity in Mumbai on Sunday.
