MP Rain: It rained heavily during monsoon in Madhya Pradesh. Due to rain the rivers and streams were in spate. The irrigation department had to open even the dam to drain the water. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon rainfall in Madhya Pradesh has increased by 18 percent. The normal rainfall for the season was estimated to be 945.5 mm. There has been 1114.8 mm rainfall in the entire Madhya Pradesh from June 1 to September. Monsoon was kind in West Madhya Pradesh also. 22 percent more rainfall than average was recorded.
Amidst the departure of monsoon, once again heavy rain has increased the troubles of the people. According to the Meteorological Department, Sheopur was the district with the highest rainfall in the state. Rain record broken in Sheopur. The district has received 100 percent more rainfall than the average.
Where did it rain least in MP?
The least rainfall has been recorded in Rewa. The district has received 738.8 mm rainfall from June 1 to the last week of September. Normal rainfall was estimated at 994.6 mm. So far 1179.4 mm of rain has fallen in Eastern Madhya Pradesh. The normal rainfall was estimated to be 1041.02 mm. Highest rainfall has been recorded in Niwari of Eastern Madhya Pradesh. The district has received 71 percent more rainfall than normal.

17 percent rainfall has been recorded in Anuppur, 29 percent in Chhindwara, 10 percent each in Damoh and Dindori, 2 percent in Jabalpur, 29 percent in Mandla, 39 percent in Singrauli, 20 percent in Tikamgarh, 23 percent in Sagar. Normal rainfall was recorded in Balaghat, Panna, Umaria, Shahdol, Dindori, Chhatarpur of Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Shivpuri, Morena, Alirajpur, Bhind, Gwalior of West Madhya Pradesh have recorded 50 percent more rainfall than normal.
25 to 50 percent more rainfall has been recorded in Bhopal, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Barwani, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Raisen, Neemuch, Khargone, Jhabua districts. From June 1 till now, there has been more than normal rainfall in Burhanpur, Datia, Dewas, Shajapur, Vidisha, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Mandsaur, Harda, Dhar, Betul districts.
