MP Kamal Nath attacked Mohan Yadav government for taking 88 thousand crore loan ANN | MP: Mohan government is going to take the biggest loan ever! Kamal Nath said

MP Politics: The BJP government of Madhya Pradesh is going to take the biggest loan ever. It is being told that the government is going to take a loan of Rs 88 thousand crores. In this, there is a plan to take Rs 73 thousand 540 crore from the market and Rs 15 thousand crore from the central government. Such a huge loan is being taken for the first time in history. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has taunted CM Mohan Yadav on the state government taking loan.

Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath tweeted that “The Madhya Pradesh government is going to take a loan of Rs 88 thousand 450 crore for the financial year 2024-25. Before this, Madhya Pradesh has a debt of more than 3.50 lakh crores. After the currently proposed loan, Madhya Pradesh will have a debt of about 4.38 lakh crores. The condition of the debt-ridden Madhya Pradesh government has become such that now they have to take loans even to pay the interest on the loan. This is the result of wrong economic policies and immature decisions.”

He further said that “I have said earlier also that the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh is constantly engaged in taking loans to award contracts and collect commissions and the debt burden on the public keeps increasing. I want to tell the Chief Minister that instead of burdening the people of the state with more debt, he should take initiative towards repaying the existing debt on the state and making Madhya Pradesh debt free.” Meanwhile, the state’s Deputy CM and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda says that the loan is taken for development works, which is also paid on time.

schemes weighing heavy on the government
Before the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the BJP government had announced and launched several schemes. On the basis of these schemes, the BJP government has again been formed in the state, but now these schemes have become a headache for the government. The Ladli Behna Yojana requires an expenditure of Rs 18 thousand crore every year, Rs 5,500 crore for providing 100 units of electricity for Rs 100, Rs 17 thousand crore for subsidy on agricultural pumps and Rs 1000 crore for the scheme of providing cylinders for Rs 450.

In the year 2021-22, the expenditure on salary and allowances of employees was Rs 59,662 crore, which was 24.78 percent of the budget. In the year 2023-24, it reached Rs 82,838 crore, which is 27.43 percent of the budget. Meanwhile, Rs 4,949 crore was deposited in GPF in 2023-24, while the payment was Rs 5,563 crore.
