Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi was appointed the party’s deputy leader in the Lok Sabha. Eight-time MP Kodikunnil Suresh was appointed chief whip. MP Manickam Tagore and Dr. MD Javed were appointed whips. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has given information in this regard by tweeting.
The Congress General Secretary said that he has sent a letter in this regard to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. He said that Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Birla informing him about the appointment of Deputy Leader, Chief Whip and two Whips for the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha.
Earlier, the party had nominated Rahul Gandhi as the leader of the opposition. He was later appointed to this post. KC Venugopal said that under the direction of Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, the Congress and other parties of the Indy alliance will raise the issues of the people in the Lok Sabha with full energy.
